Srimad Bhagavatam
पद्भ्यां भगवतो जज्ञे शुश्रूषा धर्मसिद्धये । तस्यां जातः पुरा शूद्रो यद्वृत्त्या तुष्यते हरिः ॥ ३-६-३३ ॥
Thereafter, service was manifested from the legs of the Personality of Godhead for the sake of perfecting the religious function. Situated on the legs are the śūdras, who satisfy the Lord by service. ॥ 3-6-33 ॥

तत्पश्चात् धार्मिक कार्य पूरा करने के लिए भगवान् के पैरों से सेवा प्रकट हुई। पैरों पर शूद्र स्थित होते हैं, जो सेवा द्वारा भगवान् को तुष्ट करते हैं। ॥ ३-६-३३ ॥
