क्ष्माम्भोऽनलाऽनिलवियन्मन इन्द्रियार्थभूतादिभिः परिवृतं प्रतिसञ्जिहीर्षुः । अव्याकृतं विशति यर्हि गुणत्रयात्मा कालं पराख्यमनुभूय परः स्वयम्भूः ॥ ३-३२-९ ॥
After experiencing the inhabitable time of the three modes of material nature, known as two parārdhas, Lord Brahmā closes the material universe, which is covered by layers of earth, water, air, fire, ether, mind, ego, etc., and goes back to Godhead. ॥ 3-32-9 ॥

त्रिगुणात्मिका प्रकृति के निवास करने योग्य दो परार्धों के काल का अनुभव करके श्री ब्रह्मा इस ब्रह्माण्ड का, जो पृथ्वी, जल, वायु, अग्नि, आकाश, मन, अहंकार आदि के आवरणों से ढका हुआ है, संहार कर देते हैं और भगवान् के पास चले जाते हैं। ॥ ३-३२-९ ॥
