यं यमर्थमुपादत्ते दुःखेन सुखहेतवे । तं तं धुनोति भगवान् पुमान् शोचति यत्कृते ।। ३-३०-२ ।।

sanskrit

Whatever is produced by the materialist with great pain and labor for so-called happiness, the Supreme Personality, as the time factor, destroys, and for this reason the conditioned soul laments. ।। 3-30-2 ।।

english translation

तथाकथित सुख के लिए भौतिकतावादी द्वारा जो-जो वस्तुएँ अत्यन्त कष्ट तथा परिश्रम से अर्जित की जाती हैं उन-उन को कालरूप परम पुरुष नष्ट कर देता है और इसके कारण बद्धजीव उन के लिए शोक करता है। ।। ३-३०-२ ।।

yaM yamarthamupAdatte duHkhena sukhahetave | taM taM dhunoti bhagavAn pumAn zocati yatkRte || 3-30-2 ||
