Srimad Bhagavatam
अहिंसा सत्यमस्तेयं यावदर्थपरिग्रहः । ब्रह्मचर्यं तपः शौचं स्वाध्यायः पुरुषार्चनम् ॥ ३-२८-४ ॥
One should practice nonviolence and truthfulness, should avoid thieving and be satisfied with possessing as much as he needs for his maintenance. He should abstain from sex life, perform austerity, be clean, study the Vedas and worship the supreme form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ॥ 3-28-4 ॥
english translation
मनुष्य को चाहिए कि अहिंसा तथा सत्य का आचरण करे, चोरी से बचे और अपने निर्वाह के लिए जितना आवश्यक हो उतना ही संग्रह करे। वह विषयी जीवन से बचे, तपस्या करे, स्वच्छ रहे, वेदों का अध्ययन करे और भगवान् के परमस्वरूप की पूजा करे। ॥ ३-२८-४ ॥
