तैजसात्तु विकुर्वाणाद्बुद्धितत्त्वमभूत्सति । द्रव्यस्फुरणविज्ञानमिन्द्रियाणामनुग्रहः ।। ३-२६-२९ ।।

By transformation of the false ego in passion, intelligence takes birth, O virtuous lady. The functions of intelligence are to help in ascertaining the nature of objects when they come into view, and to help the senses. ।। 3-26-29 ।।

english translation

हे सती, रजोगुणी अहंकार में विकार होने से बुद्धि का जन्म होता है। बुद्धि के कार्य हैं दिखाई पडऩे पर पदार्थों की प्रकृति के निर्धारण में सहायता करना और इन्द्रियों की सहायता करना। ।। ३-२६-२९ ।।
