मैत्रेय उवाच पितृभ्यां प्रस्थिते साध्वी पतिमिङ्गितकोविदा । नित्यं पर्यचरत्प्रीत्या भवानीव भवं प्रभुम् ॥ ३-२३-१ ॥
Maitreya continued: After the departure of her parents, the chaste woman Devahūti, who could understand the desires of her husband, served him constantly with great love, as Bhavānī, the wife of Lord Śiva, serves her husband. ॥ 3-23-1 ॥
english translation
मैत्रेय ने कहा—अपने माता-पिता के चले जाने पर अपने पति की इच्छाओं को समझनेवाली पतिव्रता देवहूति अपने पति की प्रतिदिन प्रेमपूर्वक सेवा करने लगी जिस प्रकार भवानी अपने पति शंकर जी की करती हैं। ॥ ३-२३-१ ॥
