सोऽशयिष्टाब्धिसलिले आण्डकोशो निरात्मकः । साग्रं वै वर्षसाहस्रमन्ववात्सीत्तमीश्वरः ॥ ३-२०-१५ ॥
For over one thousand years the shiny egg lay on the waters of the Causal Ocean in the lifeless state. Then the Lord entered it as Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu. ॥ 3-20-15 ॥
english translation
यह चमकीला अण्डा एक हजार वर्षों से भी अधिक काल तक अचेतन अवस्था में कारणार्णव के जल में पड़ा रहा। तब भगवान् ने इसके भीतर गर्भोदकशायी विष्णु के रूप में प्रवेश किया। ॥ ३-२०-१५ ॥
