एष प्राकृतिको राजन् प्रलयो यत्र लीयते । आण्डकोशस्तु सङ्घातो विघात उपसादिते ॥ १२-४-६ ॥
O King, upon the annihilation of the material elements, the universal egg, comprising the elemental amalgamation of creation, is confronted with destruction. ॥ 12-4-6 ॥

हे राजन, भौतिक तत्वों के विनाश पर, सृष्टि के तात्विक सम्मिश्रण से युक्त सार्वभौमिक अंडे को विनाश का सामना करना पड़ता है। ॥ १२-४-६ ॥

पर्जन्यः शतवर्षाणि भूमौ राजन् न वर्षति । तदा निरन्ने ह्यन्योन्यं भक्षमाणाः क्षुधार्दिताः ॥ १२-४-७ ॥
As annihilation approaches, O King, there will be no rain upon the earth for one hundred years. Drought will lead to famine, and the starving populace will literally consume one another. ॥ 12-4-7 ॥

जैसे-जैसे प्रलय निकट आएगी, हे राजा, पृथ्वी पर सौ वर्षों तक वर्षा नहीं होगी। सूखे से अकाल पड़ेगा, और भूख से मर रही जनता सचमुच एक दूसरे को खा जायेगी। ॥ १२-४-७ ॥

क्षयं यास्यन्ति शनकैः कालेनोपद्रुताः प्रजाः । सामुद्रं दैहिकं भौमं रसं सांवर्तको रविः ॥ १२-४-८ ॥
The inhabitants of the earth, bewildered by the force of time, will gradually be destroyed. The sun in its annihilating form will drink up with its terrible rays all the water of the ocean, of living bodies and of the earth itself. ॥ 12-4-8 ॥

पृथ्वी के निवासी, समय की शक्ति से भ्रमित होकर, धीरे-धीरे नष्ट हो जायेंगे। सूर्य अपने प्रलयंकारी रूप में अपनी भयानक किरणों से समुद्र, जीवित प्राणियों और पृथ्वी का सारा पानी पी जाएगा। ॥ १२-४-८ ॥

रश्मिभिः पिबते घोरैः सर्वं नैव विमुञ्चति । ततः सांवर्तको वह्निः सङ्कर्षणमुखोत्थितः ॥ १२-४-९ ॥
But the devastating sun will not give any rain in return. Next the great fire of annihilation will flare up from the mouth of Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa. ॥ 12-4-9 ॥

लेकिन विनाशकारी सूरज बदले में कोई बारिश नहीं देगा। इसके बाद भगवान संकर्षण के मुख से प्रलय की महान अग्नि भड़केगी। ॥ १२-४-९ ॥
