क्षयं यास्यन्ति शनकैः कालेनोपद्रुताः प्रजाः । सामुद्रं दैहिकं भौमं रसं सांवर्तको रविः ॥ १२-४-८ ॥
The inhabitants of the earth, bewildered by the force of time, will gradually be destroyed. The sun in its annihilating form will drink up with its terrible rays all the water of the ocean, of living bodies and of the earth itself. ॥ 12-4-8 ॥
english translation
पृथ्वी के निवासी, समय की शक्ति से भ्रमित होकर, धीरे-धीरे नष्ट हो जायेंगे। सूर्य अपने प्रलयंकारी रूप में अपनी भयानक किरणों से समुद्र, जीवित प्राणियों और पृथ्वी का सारा पानी पी जाएगा। ॥ १२-४-८ ॥
