एवं व्यवसितं केचिदविज्ञाय कुबुद्धयः । फलश्रुतिं कुसुमितां न वेदज्ञा वदन्ति हि ॥ ११-२१-२६ ॥
Persons with perverted intelligence do not understand this actual purpose of Vedic knowledge and instead propagate as the highest Vedic truth the flowery statements of the Vedas that promise material rewards. Those in actual knowledge of the Vedas never speak in that way. ॥ 11-21-26 ॥

विकृत बुद्धि वाले व्यक्ति वैदिक ज्ञान के इस वास्तविक उद्देश्य को नहीं समझते हैं और इसके बजाय भौतिक पुरस्कारों का वादा करने वाले वेदों के आकर्षक कथनों को सर्वोच्च वैदिक सत्य के रूप में प्रचारित करते हैं। वेदों का वास्तविक ज्ञान रखने वाले कभी भी इस प्रकार नहीं बोलते। ॥ ११-२१-२६ ॥

कामिनः कृपणा लुब्धाः पुष्पेषु फलबुद्धयः । अग्निमुग्धा धूमतान्ताः स्वं लोकं न विदन्ति ते ॥ ११-२१-२७ ॥
Those who are full of lust, avarice and greed mistake mere flowers to be the actual fruit of life. Bewildered by the glare of fire and suffocated by its smoke, they cannot recognize their own true identity. ॥ 11-21-27 ॥

जो लोग वासना, लोभ और लालच से भरे हुए हैं वे मात्र फूलों को ही जीवन का वास्तविक फल समझ लेते हैं। आग की चकाचौंध से हतप्रभ और उसके धुएं से दम घुटने के कारण, वे अपनी असली पहचान नहीं पहचान पाते। ॥ ११-२१-२७ ॥

न ते मामङ्ग जानन्ति हृदिस्थं य इदं यतः । उक्थशस्त्रा ह्यसुतृपो यथा नीहारचक्षुषः ॥ ११-२१-२८ ॥
My dear Uddhava, persons dedicated to sense gratification obtained through honoring the Vedic rituals cannot understand that I am situated in everyone’s heart and that the entire universe is nondifferent from Me and emanates from Me. Indeed, they are just like persons whose eyes are covered by fog. ॥ 11-21-28 ॥

मेरे प्रिय उद्धव, वैदिक अनुष्ठानों का सम्मान करके प्राप्त इंद्रिय संतुष्टि के लिए समर्पित व्यक्ति यह नहीं समझ सकते कि मैं हर किसी के दिल में स्थित हूं और संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड मुझसे अलग नहीं है और मुझसे ही उत्पन्न होता है। वास्तव में, वे उन व्यक्तियों के समान हैं जिनकी आँखें कोहरे से ढकी हुई हैं। ॥ ११-२१-२८ ॥

ते मे मतमविज्ञाय परोक्षं विषयात्मकाः । हिंसायां यदि रागः स्याद्यज्ञ एव न चोदना ॥ ११-२१-२९ ॥
Those who are sworn to sense gratification cannot understand the confidential conclusion of Vedic knowledge as explained by Me. Taking pleasure in violence, they cruelly slaughter innocent animals in sacrifice for their own sense gratification and thus worship demigods, ॥ 11-21-29 ॥

जो लोग इंद्रियतृप्ति की शपथ लेते हैं वे मेरे द्वारा समझाए गए वैदिक ज्ञान के गोपनीय निष्कर्ष को नहीं समझ सकते हैं। हिंसा में आनंद लेते हुए, वे अपनी इन्द्रियतृप्ति के लिए निर्दोष पशुओं का क्रूरतापूर्वक वध करते हैं और इस प्रकार देवताओं की पूजा करते हैं, ॥ ११-२१-२९ ॥

हिंसाविहारा ह्यालब्धैः पशुभिः स्वसुखेच्छया । यजन्ते देवता यज्ञैः पितृभूतपतीन् खलाः ॥ ११-२१-३० ॥
forefathers and leaders among ghostly creatures. Such passion for violence, however, is never encouraged within the process of Vedic sacrifice. ॥ 11-21-30 ॥
