ज्ञानविज्ञानयज्ञेन मामिष्ट्वाऽऽत्मानमात्मनि । सर्वयज्ञपतिं मां वै संसिद्धिं मुनयोऽगमन् ।। ११-१९-६ ।।

Formerly, great sages, through the sacrifice of Vedic knowledge and spiritual enlightenment, worshiped Me within themselves, knowing Me to be the Supreme Lord of all sacrifice and the Supersoul in everyone’s heart. Thus coming to Me, these sages achieved the supreme perfection. ।। 11-19-6 ।।

पूर्व में, महान ऋषियों ने, वैदिक ज्ञान और आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान के यज्ञ के माध्यम से, मुझे सभी यज्ञों का सर्वोच्च भगवान और हर किसी के दिल में परमात्मा जानकर, अपने भीतर मेरी पूजा की थी। इस प्रकार मेरे पास आकर इन ऋषियों ने परम सिद्धि प्राप्त कर ली। ।। ११-१९-६ ।।

My dear Uddhava, the material body and mind, composed of the three modes of material nature, attach themselves to you, but they are actually illusion, since they appear only at the present, having no original or ultimate existence. How is it possible, therefore, that the various stages of the body, namely birth, growth, reproduction, maintenance, dwindling and death, can have any relation to your eternal self? These phases relate only to the material body, which previously did not exist and ultimately will not exist. The body exists merely at the present moment. ।। 11-19-7 ।।

मेरे प्रिय उद्धव, भौतिक प्रकृति के तीन गुणों से बना भौतिक शरीर और मन खुद को आपसे जोड़ते हैं, लेकिन वे वास्तव में भ्रम हैं, क्योंकि वे केवल वर्तमान में दिखाई देते हैं, उनका कोई मूल या अंतिम अस्तित्व नहीं है। इसलिए, यह कैसे संभव है कि शरीर की विभिन्न अवस्थाओं, अर्थात् जन्म, विकास, प्रजनन, रखरखाव, ह्रास और मृत्यु का आपके शाश्वत स्व से कोई संबंध हो सकता है? ये चरण केवल भौतिक शरीर से संबंधित हैं, जो पहले अस्तित्व में नहीं था और अंततः अस्तित्व में नहीं रहेगा। शरीर का अस्तित्व केवल वर्तमान क्षण में है। ।। ११-१९-७ ।।

Śrī Uddhava said: O Lord of the universe! O form of the universe! Please explain to me that process of knowledge which automatically brings detachment and direct perception of the truth, which is transcendental, and which is traditional among great spiritual philosophers. This knowledge, sought by elevated personalities, describes loving devotional service unto Your Lordship. ।। 11-19-8 ।।

श्री उद्धव ने कहा: हे ब्रह्मांड के भगवान! हे ब्रह्माण्ड के स्वरूप! कृपया मुझे ज्ञान की वह प्रक्रिया समझाएं जो स्वचालित रूप से वैराग्य और सत्य की प्रत्यक्ष धारणा लाती है, जो पारलौकिक है, और जो महान आध्यात्मिक दार्शनिकों के बीच पारंपरिक है। श्रेष्ठ व्यक्तित्वों द्वारा चाहा गया यह ज्ञान, आपकी प्रभुता के प्रति प्रेमपूर्ण भक्ति सेवा का वर्णन करता है। ।। ११-१९-८ ।।

My dear Lord, for one who is being tormented on the terrible path of birth and death and is constantly overwhelmed by the threefold miseries, I do not see any possible shelter other than Your two lotus feet, which are just like a refreshing umbrella that pours down showers of delicious nectar. ।। 11-19-9 ।।

O almighty Lord, please be merciful and uplift this hopeless living entity who has fallen into the dark hole of material existence, where the snake of time has bitten him. In spite of such abominable conditions, this poor living entity has tremendous desire to relish the most insignificant material happiness. Please save me, my Lord, by pouring down the nectar of Your instructions, which awaken one to spiritual freedom. ।। 11-19-10 ।।
