    छिद्यमानं यमैरेतैः कृतनीडं वनस्पतिम् । खगः स्वकेतमुत्सृज्य क्षेमं याति ह्यलम्पटः ॥ ११-२०-१५ ॥chidyamAnaM yamairetaiH kRtanIDaM vanaspatim । khagaH svaketamutsRjya kSemaM yAti hyalampaTaH ॥ 11-20-15 ॥Without attachment, a bird gives up the tree in which his nest was constructed when that tree is cut down by cruel men who are like death personified, and thus the bird achieves happiness in another place. ॥ 11-20-15 ॥

Witness our roots being torn, descending from loftier realms, bereft of consciousness under the influence of Time. We are descending like wretched sinners.' ॥ 1-41-26 ॥

    आचारः परमो धर्मः श्रुत्योक्तः स्मार्त एव च । तस्मादस्मिन् सदा युक्तो नित्यं स्यादात्मवान् द्विजः ॥ १०८ ॥AcAraH paramo dharmaH zrutyoktaH smArta eva ca । tasmAdasmin sadA yukto nityaM syAdAtmavAn dvijaH ॥ 108 ॥The rule of conduct is transcendent law, whether it be taught in the revealed texts or in the sacred tradition; hence a twice-born man who possesses regard for himself, should be always careful to (follow) it.

    तत्र लब्धपदं चित्तमाकृष्य व्योम्नि धारयेत् । तच्च त्यक्त्वा मदारोहो न किञ्चिदपि चिन्तयेत् ॥ ११-१४-४४ ॥tatra labdhapadaM cittamAkRSya vyomni dhArayet । tacca tyaktvA madAroho na kiJcidapi cintayet ॥ 11-14-44 ॥Being established in meditation on the Lord’s face, one should then withdraw the consciousness and fix it in the sky. Then giving up such meditation, one should become established in Me and give up the process of meditation altogether. ॥ 11-14-44 ॥
