वात॑स्य॒ नु म॑हि॒मानं॒ रथ॑स्य रु॒जन्ने॑ति स्त॒नय॑न्नस्य॒ घोष॑: । दि॒वि॒स्पृग्या॑त्यरु॒णानि॑ कृ॒ण्वन्नु॒तो ए॑ति पृथि॒व्या रे॒णुमस्य॑न् ॥ वातस्य नु महिमानं रथस्य रुजन्नेति स्तनयन्नस्य घोषः । दिविस्पृग्यात्यरुणानि कृण्वन्नुतो एति पृथिव्या रेणुमस्यन् ॥
(I proclaim) the greatness of the impetuous Vāyu, his voice spread thundering around; he movesalong sweeping the sky, tinting purple (the quarters of the horizon), he advances, raising the dust of the earth.

सं प्रेर॑ते॒ अनु॒ वात॑स्य वि॒ष्ठा ऐनं॑ गच्छन्ति॒ सम॑नं॒ न योषा॑: । ताभि॑: स॒युक्स॒रथं॑ दे॒व ई॑यते॒ऽस्य विश्व॑स्य॒ भुव॑नस्य॒ राजा॑ ॥ सं प्रेरते अनु वातस्य विष्ठा ऐनं गच्छन्ति समनं न योषाः । ताभिः सयुक्सरथं देव ईयतेऽस्य विश्वस्य भुवनस्य राजा ॥
Solid masses advance to meet the wind; the mares come to him as to battle; associated with themandin the same car the divinity proceeds, the sovereign of all this world.

अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे प॒थिभि॒रीय॑मानो॒ न नि वि॑शते कत॒मच्च॒नाह॑: । अ॒पां सखा॑ प्रथम॒जा ऋ॒तावा॒ क्व॑ स्विज्जा॒तः कुत॒ आ ब॑भूव ॥ अन्तरिक्षे पथिभिरीयमानो न नि विशते कतमच्चनाहः । अपां सखा प्रथमजा ऋतावा क्व स्विज्जातः कुत आ बभूव ॥
Traversing the firmament by its paths, (Vāyu) rests not for a single day; the friend of the waters, thefirst-born, the utterer of truth-- where has he been genitive rated, whence was he manifested?

आ॒त्मा दे॒वानां॒ भुव॑नस्य॒ गर्भो॑ यथाव॒शं च॑रति दे॒व ए॒षः । घोषा॒ इद॑स्य शृण्विरे॒ न रू॒पं तस्मै॒ वाता॑य ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ आत्मा देवानां भुवनस्य गर्भो यथावशं चरति देव एषः । घोषा इदस्य शृण्विरे न रूपं तस्मै वाताय हविषा विधेम ॥
The soul of the gods, the germ of the world, this divinity moves according to his plural asure; his voicesare heard, his form is not (seen); let us worship that Vāta with oblations. nutritious life-sustaining (waters); Rudra, have compassion upon the food which has feet.
