देवा॑: क॒पोत॑ इषि॒तो यदि॒च्छन्दू॒तो निॠ॑त्या इ॒दमा॑ज॒गाम॑ । तस्मा॑ अर्चाम कृ॒णवा॑म॒ निष्कृ॑तिं॒ शं नो॑ अस्तु द्वि॒पदे॒ शं चतु॑ष्पदे ॥ देवाः कपोत इषितो यदिच्छन्दूतो निॠत्या इदमाजगाम । तस्मा अर्चाम कृणवाम निष्कृतिं शं नो अस्तु द्विपदे शं चतुष्पदे ॥
O gods, let us worship for that, desiring which the pigeon sent as Nirṛti's messenger, has come to this(ceremony); let us make atonement, may prosperity be given to our bipeds and quadrupeds.
english translation
शि॒वः क॒पोत॑ इषि॒तो नो॑ अस्त्वना॒गा दे॑वाः शकु॒नो गृ॒हेषु॑ । अ॒ग्निर्हि विप्रो॑ जु॒षतां॑ ह॒विर्न॒: परि॑ हे॒तिः प॒क्षिणी॑ नो वृणक्तु ॥ शिवः कपोत इषितो नो अस्त्वनागा देवाः शकुनो गृहेषु । अग्निर्हि विप्रो जुषतां हविर्नः परि हेतिः पक्षिणी नो वृणक्तु ॥
May the bird sent to our dwellings, the pigeon, be auspicious, O gods, and void of offence, so that thewise Agni may approve of our oblation, and the winged weapon (of mischief) depart from us.
english translation
हे॒तिः प॒क्षिणी॒ न द॑भात्य॒स्माना॒ष्ट्र्यां प॒दं कृ॑णुते अग्नि॒धाने॑ । शं नो॒ गोभ्य॑श्च॒ पुरु॑षेभ्यश्चास्तु॒ मा नो॑ हिंसीदि॒ह दे॑वाः क॒पोत॑: ॥ हेतिः पक्षिणी न दभात्यस्मानाष्ट्र्यां पदं कृणुते अग्निधाने । शं नो गोभ्यश्च पुरुषेभ्यश्चास्तु मा नो हिंसीदिह देवाः कपोतः ॥
May the winged weapon (of mischief) do us no harm; he takes his plural ce upon the touchwood, the seatof Agni; may prosperity attend our cattle and our people, let not the pigeon, gods, do us harm in this (dwelling).

यदुलू॑को॒ वद॑ति मो॒घमे॒तद्यत्क॒पोत॑: प॒दम॒ग्नौ कृ॒णोति॑ । यस्य॑ दू॒तः प्रहि॑त ए॒ष ए॒तत्तस्मै॑ य॒माय॒ नमो॑ अस्तु मृ॒त्यवे॑ ॥ यदुलूको वदति मोघमेतद्यत्कपोतः पदमग्नौ कृणोति । यस्य दूतः प्रहित एष एतत्तस्मै यमाय नमो अस्तु मृत्यवे ॥
May that which the owl shrieks be in vain, (and may it be in vain) that the pigeon takes his plural ce uponthe fire; may this reverence be paid to Yama, (the god of) Death, as whose messenger he is sent.

ऋ॒चा क॒पोतं॑ नुदत प्र॒णोद॒मिषं॒ मद॑न्त॒: परि॒ गां न॑यध्वम् । सं॒यो॒पय॑न्तो दुरि॒तानि॒ विश्वा॑ हि॒त्वा न॒ ऊर्जं॒ प्र प॑ता॒त्पति॑ष्ठः ॥ ऋचा कपोतं नुदत प्रणोदमिषं मदन्तः परि गां नयध्वम् । संयोपयन्तो दुरितानि विश्वा हित्वा न ऊर्जं प्र पतात्पतिष्ठः ॥
(Praised) by our hymn, O gods, drive out the pigeon, who deserves to be driven out, exhilarated (byour oblation), bring us food and cattle, dissipating all our misfortunes; abandoning our food, may the swift(pigeon) fly away.
