ते॑ऽवदन्प्रथ॒मा ब्र॑ह्मकिल्बि॒षेऽकू॑पारः सलि॒लो मा॑त॒रिश्वा॑ । वी॒ळुह॑रा॒स्तप॑ उ॒ग्रो म॑यो॒भूरापो॑ दे॒वीः प्र॑थम॒जा ऋ॒तेन॑ ॥ तेऽवदन्प्रथमा ब्रह्मकिल्बिषेऽकूपारः सलिलो मातरिश्वा । वीळुहरास्तप उग्रो मयोभूरापो देवीः प्रथमजा ऋतेन ॥

These spoke first about Brahmā's sin, the boundless (sun), the water- god (Varuṇa), the wind-god(Vāyu), the fierce, wide-consuming fire, the source of happiness, (Soma), the divine waters, the first-born sons of the truthful (Brahmā).

सोमो॒ राजा॑ प्रथ॒मो ब्र॑ह्मजा॒यां पुन॒: प्राय॑च्छ॒दहृ॑णीयमानः । अ॒न्व॒र्ति॒ता वरु॑णो मि॒त्र आ॑सीद॒ग्निर्होता॑ हस्त॒गृह्या नि॑नाय ॥ सोमो राजा प्रथमो ब्रह्मजायां पुनः प्रायच्छदहृणीयमानः । अन्वर्तिता वरुणो मित्र आसीदग्निर्होता हस्तगृह्या निनाय ॥

First, the royal Soma, without being ashamed, restored Brahmā's wife (to Bṛhaspati), Varuṇa wasthe inviter, and Mitra, Agni as the ministrant priest taking her by the hand, led her (to her husband).

somo॒ rAjA॑ pratha॒mo bra॑hmajA॒yAM puna॒: prAya॑ccha॒dahR॑NIyamAnaH | a॒nva॒rti॒tA varu॑No mi॒tra A॑sIda॒gnirhotA॑ hasta॒gRhyA ni॑nAya || somo rAjA prathamo brahmajAyAM punaH prAyacchadahRNIyamAnaH | anvartitA varuNo mitra AsIdagnirhotA hastagRhyA ninAya ||

हस्ते॑नै॒व ग्रा॒ह्य॑ आ॒धिर॑स्या ब्रह्मजा॒येयमिति॒ चेदवो॑चन् । न दू॒ताय॑ प्र॒ह्ये॑ तस्थ ए॒षा तथा॑ रा॒ष्ट्रं गु॑पि॒तं क्ष॒त्रिय॑स्य ॥ हस्तेनैव ग्राह्य आधिरस्या ब्रह्मजायेयमिति चेदवोचन् । न दूताय प्रह्ये तस्थ एषा तथा राष्ट्रं गुपितं क्षत्रियस्य ॥

And (the gods) said (to Bṛhaspati), "This pledge of hers is to be taken by the hand, this is the wife ofBrahmā; she has not made herself known to the messenger sent (to seek her), so is the kingdom of a kṣatriya protected".

haste॑nai॒va grA॒hya॑ A॒dhira॑syA brahmajA॒yeyamiti॒ cedavo॑can | na dU॒tAya॑ pra॒hye॑ tastha e॒SA tathA॑ rA॒STraM gu॑pi॒taM kSa॒triya॑sya || hastenaiva grAhya AdhirasyA brahmajAyeyamiti cedavocan | na dUtAya prahye tastha eSA tathA rASTraM gupitaM kSatriyasya ||

दे॒वा ए॒तस्या॑मवदन्त॒ पूर्वे॑ सप्तऋ॒षय॒स्तप॑से॒ ये नि॑षे॒दुः । भी॒मा जा॒या ब्रा॑ह्म॒णस्योप॑नीता दु॒र्धां द॑धाति पर॒मे व्यो॑मन् ॥ देवा एतस्यामवदन्त पूर्वे सप्तऋषयस्तपसे ये निषेदुः । भीमा जाया ब्राह्मणस्योपनीता दुर्धां दधाति परमे व्योमन् ॥

The ancient deities spoke about her, the seven Ṛṣis who were engaged in penance. The terrible wifeof Brahma has been brought back (to her husband); (penance) elevates into the highest heaven.

de॒vA e॒tasyA॑mavadanta॒ pUrve॑ saptaR॒Saya॒stapa॑se॒ ye ni॑Se॒duH | bhI॒mA jA॒yA brA॑hma॒Nasyopa॑nItA du॒rdhAM da॑dhAti para॒me vyo॑man || devA etasyAmavadanta pUrve saptaRSayastapase ye niSeduH | bhImA jAyA brAhmaNasyopanItA durdhAM dadhAti parame vyoman ||

ब्र॒ह्म॒चा॒री च॑रति॒ वेवि॑ष॒द्विष॒: स दे॒वानां॑ भव॒त्येक॒मङ्ग॑म् । तेन॑ जा॒यामन्व॑विन्द॒द्बृह॒स्पति॒: सोमे॑न नी॒तां जु॒ह्वं१॒॑ न दे॑वाः ॥ ब्रह्मचारी चरति वेविषद्विषः स देवानां भवत्येकमङ्गम् । तेन जायामन्वविन्दद्बृहस्पतिः सोमेन नीतां जुह्वं न देवाः ॥

He leads the life of a Brahmacārin, even adoring all the gods; he becomes a portion of the gods;therefore, Bṛhaspati obtained his wife (formerly) brought him by Soma, as the gods receive an offering.
