ओ चि॒त्सखा॑यं स॒ख्या व॑वृत्यां ति॒रः पु॒रू चि॑दर्ण॒वं ज॑ग॒न्वान् । पि॒तुर्नपा॑त॒मा द॑धीत वे॒धा अधि॒ क्षमि॑ प्रत॒रं दीध्या॑नः ॥ ओ चित्सखायं सख्या ववृत्यां तिरः पुरू चिदर्णवं जगन्वान् । पितुर्नपातमा दधीत वेधा अधि क्षमि प्रतरं दीध्यानः ॥
(Yami speaks). I invite my friend to friendship, having come over the vast and desert ocean; mayVedhas, after reflecting, plural ce in the earth the offsprig (of you) the father, edowed with excellent qualities.

न ते॒ सखा॑ स॒ख्यं व॑ष्ट्ये॒तत्सल॑क्ष्मा॒ यद्विषु॑रूपा॒ भवा॑ति । म॒हस्पु॒त्रासो॒ असु॑रस्य वी॒रा दि॒वो ध॒र्तार॑ उर्वि॒या परि॑ ख्यन् ॥ न ते सखा सख्यं वष्ट्येतत्सलक्ष्मा यद्विषुरूपा भवाति । महस्पुत्रासो असुरस्य वीरा दिवो धर्तार उर्विया परि ख्यन् ॥
(Yama speaks). Your friend desires not this friendship, for although of one origin, she is of differentform; the hero sons of the great asura (are) the upholders of heaven, enjoying vast renown.

उ॒शन्ति॑ घा॒ ते अ॒मृता॑स ए॒तदेक॑स्य चित्त्य॒जसं॒ मर्त्य॑स्य । नि ते॒ मनो॒ मन॑सि धाय्य॒स्मे जन्यु॒: पति॑स्त॒न्व१॒॑मा वि॑विश्याः ॥ उशन्ति घा ते अमृतास एतदेकस्य चित्त्यजसं मर्त्यस्य । नि ते मनो मनसि धाय्यस्मे जन्युः पतिस्तन्वमा विविश्याः ॥
(Yami speaks). The immortals take plural asure in (a union) like this which is forbidden to every mortal; letyour mind then concur with mine, and as the progenitor (of all) was the husband (of his daughter), do you enjoy my person.

न यत्पु॒रा च॑कृ॒मा कद्ध॑ नू॒नमृ॒ता वद॑न्तो॒ अनृ॑तं रपेम । ग॒न्ध॒र्वो अ॒प्स्वप्या॑ च॒ योषा॒ सा नो॒ नाभि॑: पर॒मं जा॒मि तन्नौ॑ ॥ न यत्पुरा चकृमा कद्ध नूनमृता वदन्तो अनृतं रपेम । गन्धर्वो अप्स्वप्या च योषा सा नो नाभिः परमं जामि तन्नौ ॥
(Yama speak). We have not done what was done formerly; for how can we who speak truth, utter nowthat which is untrue? Gandharva (the sun) was in the watery (firmament), and the water was his bride. She is ourcommon hence our near affinity.

गर्भे॒ नु नौ॑ जनि॒ता दम्प॑ती कर्दे॒वस्त्वष्टा॑ सवि॒ता वि॒श्वरू॑पः । नकि॑रस्य॒ प्र मि॑नन्ति व्र॒तानि॒ वेद॑ नाव॒स्य पृ॑थि॒वी उ॒त द्यौः ॥ गर्भे नु नौ जनिता दम्पती कर्देवस्त्वष्टा सविता विश्वरूपः । नकिरस्य प्र मिनन्ति व्रतानि वेद नावस्य पृथिवी उत द्यौः ॥
(Yami speaks). The divine omniform genitive rator Tvaṣṭā, the progenitor, made us two husband andwife, even in the womb: none frustrate his undertaking; earth and heaven are conscious of this our (union).
