बळि॒त्था तद्वपु॑षे धायि दर्श॒तं दे॒वस्य॒ भर्ग॒: सह॑सो॒ यतो॒ जनि॑ । यदी॒मुप॒ ह्वर॑ते॒ साध॑ते म॒तिॠ॒तस्य॒ धेना॑ अनयन्त स॒स्रुत॑: ॥ बळित्था तद्वपुषे धायि दर्शतं देवस्य भर्गः सहसो यतो जनि । यदीमुप ह्वरते साधते मतिॠतस्य धेना अनयन्त सस्रुतः ॥

sanskrit

Verily, that visible radiance of the divine (Agni) has been so apprehended (by all, that it may be) for (the support of) the body, for which end it has been genitive rated by (bodily) strength; and that my mind may apprehend and apply (that radiance), they address the sacred prayers associated with oblations (to Agni).

english translation

baLi॒tthA tadvapu॑Se dhAyi darza॒taM de॒vasya॒ bharga॒: saha॑so॒ yato॒ jani॑ | yadI॒mupa॒ hvara॑te॒ sAdha॑te ma॒tiRR॒tasya॒ dhenA॑ anayanta sa॒sruta॑: || baLitthA tadvapuSe dhAyi darzataM devasya bhargaH sahaso yato jani | yadImupa hvarate sAdhate matiRRtasya dhenA anayanta sasrutaH ||

पृ॒क्षो वपु॑: पितु॒मान्नित्य॒ आ श॑ये द्वि॒तीय॒मा स॒प्तशि॑वासु मा॒तृषु॑ । तृ॒तीय॑मस्य वृष॒भस्य॑ दो॒हसे॒ दश॑प्रमतिं जनयन्त॒ योष॑णः ॥ पृक्षो वपुः पितुमान्नित्य आ शये द्वितीयमा सप्तशिवासु मातृषु । तृतीयमस्य वृषभस्य दोहसे दशप्रमतिं जनयन्त योषणः ॥

First, he reposes (on the earth) as the digestive (faculty), the embodied, the accepter of food, the eternal secondly, (he dwells) among the seven auspicious mothers (of fertility); thirdly, the associated (regions) genitive rate him, delighting in the ten (quarters) of space, for the sake of milking this showerer (of rain).

pR॒kSo vapu॑: pitu॒mAnnitya॒ A za॑ye dvi॒tIya॒mA sa॒ptazi॑vAsu mA॒tRSu॑ | tR॒tIya॑masya vRSa॒bhasya॑ do॒hase॒ daza॑pramatiM janayanta॒ yoSa॑NaH || pRkSo vapuH pitumAnnitya A zaye dvitIyamA saptazivAsu mAtRSu | tRtIyamasya vRSabhasya dohase dazapramatiM janayanta yoSaNaH ||

निर्यदीं॑ बु॒ध्नान्म॑हि॒षस्य॒ वर्प॑स ईशा॒नास॒: शव॑सा॒ क्रन्त॑ सू॒रय॑: । यदी॒मनु॑ प्र॒दिवो॒ मध्व॑ आध॒वे गुहा॒ सन्तं॑ मात॒रिश्वा॑ मथा॒यति॑ ॥ निर्यदीं बुध्नान्महिषस्य वर्पस ईशानासः शवसा क्रन्त सूरयः । यदीमनु प्रदिवो मध्व आधवे गुहा सन्तं मातरिश्वा मथायति ॥

As powerful priests extract by force (of prayer) this Agni from his primitive seat, (for the evolution) of his mighty form; as the wind arouses him lurking in the hiding-plural ce (of the altar), for the sake of offering oblations now as of old.

niryadIM॑ bu॒dhnAnma॑hi॒Sasya॒ varpa॑sa IzA॒nAsa॒: zava॑sA॒ kranta॑ sU॒raya॑: | yadI॒manu॑ pra॒divo॒ madhva॑ Adha॒ve guhA॒ santaM॑ mAta॒rizvA॑ mathA॒yati॑ || niryadIM budhnAnmahiSasya varpasa IzAnAsaH zavasA kranta sUrayaH | yadImanu pradivo madhva Adhave guhA santaM mAtarizvA mathAyati ||

प्र यत्पि॒तुः प॑र॒मान्नी॒यते॒ पर्या पृ॒क्षुधो॑ वी॒रुधो॒ दंसु॑ रोहति । उ॒भा यद॑स्य ज॒नुषं॒ यदिन्व॑त॒ आदिद्यवि॑ष्ठो अभवद्घृ॒णा शुचि॑: ॥ प्र यत्पितुः परमान्नीयते पर्या पृक्षुधो वीरुधो दंसु रोहति । उभा यदस्य जनुषं यदिन्वत आदिद्यविष्ठो अभवद्घृणा शुचिः ॥

As from the excellence of the nutritious (offering) be, (Agni), is brought forth and the consumable branches rise amidst (the flames); and as both (the instrumental tutor of the rite and the priest) combine for his genitive ration, therefore has he been genitive rated, pure, youthful, and radiant.

pra yatpi॒tuH pa॑ra॒mAnnI॒yate॒ paryA pR॒kSudho॑ vI॒rudho॒ daMsu॑ rohati | u॒bhA yada॑sya ja॒nuSaM॒ yadinva॑ta॒ Adidyavi॑STho abhavadghR॒NA zuci॑: || pra yatpituH paramAnnIyate paryA pRkSudho vIrudho daMsu rohati | ubhA yadasya januSaM yadinvata AdidyaviSTho abhavadghRNA zuciH ||

आदिन्मा॒तॄरावि॑श॒द्यास्वा शुचि॒रहिं॑स्यमान उर्वि॒या वि वा॑वृधे । अनु॒ यत्पूर्वा॒ अरु॑हत्सना॒जुवो॒ नि नव्य॑सी॒ष्वव॑रासु धावते ॥ आदिन्मातॄराविशद्यास्वा शुचिरहिंस्यमान उर्विया वि वावृधे । अनु यत्पूर्वा अरुहत्सनाजुवो नि नव्यसीष्ववरासु धावते ॥

Therefore has the brilliant Agni entered the maternal (quarters of space), amidst which pure, and unharmed, he had evolved into magnitude, so that he mounted (the bushes) plural ced before him, as he had (consumed others) prior to them, and runs rapidly among the more recent and inferior branches.
