प्रत्युवाच महाभागं विश्वामित्रं महामुनिम् । बालो द्वादशवर्षोऽयमकृतास्त्रश्च राघवः ॥ ३-३८-६
- replied the great, venerable sage Visvamitra 'My son Rama is only twelve. He is not experienced in the use of weapons. ॥ 3-38-6॥
english translation
pratyuvAca mahAbhAgaM vizvAmitraM mahAmunim । bAlo dvAdazavarSo'yamakRtAstrazca rAghavaH ॥ 3-38-6
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकामं तु मम यत्सैन्यं मया सह गमिष्यति । बलेन चतुरङ्गेण स्वयमेत्य निशाचरान् ॥ ३-३८-७
I shall accompany you with my army. With four divisions ( elephants, horses, cavalry and infantry ) of the army, I myself to the night-walkers - ॥ 3-38-7॥
english translation
kAmaM tu mama yatsainyaM mayA saha gamiSyati । balena caturaGgeNa svayametya nizAcarAn ॥ 3-38-7
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवधिष्यामि मुनिश्रेष्ठ शत्रूंस्ते मनसेप्सितान् । इत्येवमुक्तस्समुनी राजानमिदमब्रवीत् ॥ ३-३८-८
- the enemies you want me to, will slay, Oh ! distinguished sage.' When the king thus responded to the sage, he told him that . - ॥ 3-38-8॥

vadhiSyAmi munizreSTha zatrUMste manasepsitAn । ityevamuktassamunI rAjAnamidamabravIt ॥ 3-38-8
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरामान्नान्यद्बलं लोके पर्याप्तं तस्य रक्षसः । देवतानामपि भवान् समरेष्वभिपालकः ॥ ३-३८-९
- none other than Rama in this world is a match for that demon. You have protected even gods in wars and have been a guardian. ॥ 3-38-9॥

rAmAnnAnyadbalaM loke paryAptaM tasya rakSasaH । devatAnAmapi bhavAn samareSvabhipAlakaH ॥ 3-38-9
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआसीत्तव कृतं कर्म त्रिलोके विदितं नृप । काममस्तु महत्सैन्यं तिष्ठत्विह परन्तप ॥ ३-३८-१०
Oh ! king, your deeds are very well known in the three worlds. Oh ! scourge of foes as you wish, let your great army wait here. ॥ 3-38-10॥

AsIttava kRtaM karma triloke viditaM nRpa । kAmamastu mahatsainyaM tiSThatviha parantapa ॥ 3-38-10
