कामं तपःप्रभावेन शक्ता हन्तुं निशाचरान् । चिरार्जितं तु नेच्छामस्तपः खण्डयितुं वयम् ॥ ३-१०-१४

sanskrit

We by the efficacy of our ascesis are surely capable to eradicate those demons, but we do not wish to shorten the effect of our long earned merit of ascesis. ॥ 3-10-14॥॥

english translation

kAmaM tapaHprabhAvena zaktA hantuM nizAcarAn । cirArjitaM tu necchAmastapaH khaNDayituM vayam ॥ 3-10-14
