सनुषाया दुहितुर वापि पुत्रे चात्मनि वा पुनः अत्र शङ्कां न पश्यामि तेन अशुद्धिर भविष्यति ।। ४-६७-६ ।।

‘For, to the righteous, there is no distinction between a daughter and a daughter-in-law, just as there is none between a son and one’s very own self.’ ।। 4-67-6 ।।

english translation

sanuSAyA duhitura vApi putre cAtmani vA punaH atra zaGkAM na pazyAmi tena azuddhira bhaviSyati || 4-67-6 ||

अभिषङ्गाद अहं भीतॊ मिथ्याचारात परंतप सनुषार्थम उत्तरां राजन परतिगृह्णामि ते सुताम ।। ४-६७-७ ।।

‘By adopting this course, O king, the purity of your daughter shall stand beyond question. I fear slander and false accusations, and therefore, I accept thy daughter, Uttara, as my daughter-in-law.’ ।। 4-67-7 ।।

abhiSaGgAda ahaM bhItò mithyAcArAta paraMtapa sanuSArthama uttarAM rAjana paratigRhNAmi te sutAma || 4-67-7 ||

सवस्रीयॊ वासुदेवस्य साक्षाद देव शिशुर यथा दयितश चक्रहस्तस्य बाल एवास्त्र कॊविदः ।। ४-६७-८ ।।

‘My son, the mighty-armed Abhimanyu — unrivalled in the knowledge of weapons and radiant in beauty like a celestial youth — is the beloved nephew of Vasudeva, the wielder of the discus..’ ।। 4-67-8 ।।

savasrIyò vAsudevasya sAkSAda deva zizura yathA dayitaza cakrahastasya bAla evAstra kòvidaH || 4-67-8 ||

अभिमन्युर महाबाहुः पुत्रॊ मम विशां पतौ जामाता तव युक्तॊ वै भर्ता च दुहितुस तव ।। ४-६७-९ ।।

‘He, O king, is indeed most worthy to be your son-in-law and the husband of your daughter.’ ।। 4-67-9 ।।

abhimanyura mahAbAhuH putrò mama vizAM patau jAmAtA tava yuktò vai bhartA ca duhitusa tava || 4-67-9 ||

[विराट] उपपन्नं कुरुश्रेष्ठे कुन्तीपुत्रे धनंजये य एवं धर्मनित्यश च जातज्ञानश च पाण्डवः ।। ४-६७-१० ।।

‘Virata said, 'It well befits thee, O best of the Kurus, Dhananjaya, son of Kunti, to speak thus — for thou art ever virtuous and wise.'’ ।। 4-67-10 ।।
