ततः शङ्खाश च भेर्यश च गॊमुखाडम्बरास तथा पार्थैः संयुज्यमानस्य नेदुर मत्स्यस्य वेश्मनि ॥ ४-६७-२६ ॥
‘Within the palace of Virata, conchs, cymbals, horns, drums, and other musical instruments, arranged by the Pandavas, resounded in joyful harmony.’ ॥ 4-67-26 ॥

उच्चावचान मृगाञ जघ्नुर मेध्यांश च शतशः पशून सुरा मैरेय पानानि परभूतान्य अभ्यहारयन ॥ ४-६७-२७ ॥
‘Hundreds of deer and other clean animals were slain in ritual sacrifice, while wines of various kinds and intoxicating tree-juices were abundantly prepared.’ ॥ 4-67-27 ॥

गायनाख्यान शीलाश च नटा वैतालिकास तथा सतुवन्तस तान उपातिष्ठन सूताश च सह मागधैः ॥ ४-६७-२८ ॥
‘Mimes, bards, and encomiasts, skilled in singing and learned in legendary lore, attended the kings, chanting their praises and reciting their genealogies with reverence and skill.’ ॥ 4-67-28 ॥

सुदेष्णां च पुरस्कृत्य मत्स्यानां च वरस्त्रियः आजग्मुश चारुसर्वाङ्ग्यः सुमृष्टमणिकुण्डलाः ॥ ४-६७-२९ ॥
‘And the matrons of the Matsyas, all of graceful form and perfect proportion, adorned with earrings of pearls and gems, and headed by Queen Sudeshna, came to the place where the marriage knot was to be tied.’ ॥ 4-67-29 ॥

वर्णॊपपन्नास ता नार्यॊ रूपवत्यः सवलं कृताः सर्वाश चाभ्यभवत कृष्णा रूपेण यशसा शरिया ॥ ४-६७-३० ॥
‘Among these beautiful women of fair complexion and splendid ornaments, Krishna shone foremost in beauty, fame, and radiance.’ ॥ 4-67-30 ॥
