[वै] ततॊ विराटः परमाभितुष्टः; समेत्य राज्ञा समयं चकार राज्यं च सर्वं विससर्ज तस्मै; स दण्डकॊशं स पुरं महात्मा ॥ ४-६६-२१ ॥
‘Vaisampayana continued, 'Then the high-souled King Virata, overjoyed, approached Yudhishthira and formed an alliance with him. In a gesture of utmost reverence, he offered his entire kingdom — together with the sceptre, the treasury, and the splendid metropolis — to the son of Kunti.'’ ॥ 4-66-21 ॥
english translation
[vai] tatò virATaH paramAbhituSTaH; sametya rAjJA samayaM cakAra rAjyaM ca sarvaM visasarja tasmai; sa daNDakòzaM sa puraM mahAtmA ॥ 4-66-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपाण्डवांश च ततः सर्वान मत्स्यराजः परतापवान धनंजयं पुरस्कृत्य दिष्ट्या दिष्ट्येति चाब्रचीत ॥ ४-६६-२२ ॥
‘And addressing all the Pandavas — with special regard for Dhananjaya — the mighty king of the Matsyas exclaimed again and again, 'By great fortune indeed do I behold you all!'’ ॥ 4-66-22 ॥

pANDavAMza ca tataH sarvAna matsyarAjaH paratApavAna dhanaMjayaM puraskRtya diSTyA diSTyeti cAbracIta ॥ 4-66-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसमुपाघ्राय मूर्धानं संश्लिष्य च पुनः पुनः युधिष्ठिरं च भीमं च माद्रीपुत्रौ च पाण्डवौ ॥ ४-६६-२३ ॥
‘And again and again, Virata — the lord of a mighty host — embraced Yudhishthira, Bhima, and the sons of Madri, tenderly smelling their heads in affection, yet never tiring of gazing upon them.’ ॥ 4-66-23 ॥

samupAghrAya mUrdhAnaM saMzliSya ca punaH punaH yudhiSThiraM ca bhImaM ca mAdrIputrau ca pANDavau ॥ 4-66-23 ॥

‘Virata, the commander of a vast army, could not be satiated with gazing upon them. Overjoyed, he then addressed King Yudhishthira and spoke these words:’ ॥ 4-66-24 ॥

nAtRpyada darzane teSAM virATò vAhinIpatiH saMprIyamANò rAjAnaM yudhiSThirama athAbravIta ॥ 4-66-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिष्ट्या भवन्तः संप्राप्ताः सर्वे कुशलिनॊ वनात दिष्ट्या च पारितं कृच्छ्रम अज्ञातं वै दुरात्मभिः ॥ ४-६६-२५ ॥
‘By great fortune do I behold you safe, returned from the forests! By great fortune have you, with such difficulty, completed your long exile, remaining undiscovered by those wicked ones.’ ॥ 4-66-25 ॥

diSTyA bhavantaH saMprAptAH sarve kuzalinò vanAta diSTyA ca pAritaM kRcchrama ajJAtaM vai durAtmabhiH ॥ 4-66-25 ॥
