[वै] ततस तृतीये दिवसे भरातरः पञ्च पाण्डवाः सनाताः शुक्लाम्बर धराः समये चरितव्रताः ॥ ४-६५-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said: “Then, on the third day, clad in white robes after their baths and adorned with ornaments of every kind, the five great car-warriors—the Pandava brothers—"' ॥ 4-65-1 ॥

युधिष्ठिरं पुरस्कृत्य सर्वाभरणभूषिताः अभिपद्मा यथा नागा भराजमाना महारथाः ॥ ४-६५-२ ॥

'Adorned with all ornaments and honors, the mighty car-warriors approached Yudhishthira, advancing like great serpents with their hoods spread.' ॥ 4-65-2 ॥

विराटस्य सभां गत्वा भूमिपालासनेष्व अथ निषेदुः पावकप्रख्याः सर्वे धिष्ण्येष्व इवाग्नयः ॥ ४-६५-३ ॥

'Passing through the palace gates, they took their seats on the thrones reserved for kings in Virata’s council hall, shining brilliantly like fires upon a sacrificial altar.' ॥ 4-65-3 ॥

virATasya sabhAM gatvA bhUmipAlAsaneSva atha niSeduH pAvakaprakhyAH sarve dhiSNyeSva ivAgnayaH ॥ 4-65-3 ॥

तेषु तत्रॊपविष्टेषु विराटः पृथिवीपतिः आजगाम सभां कर्तुं राजकार्याणि सर्वशः ॥ ४-६५-४ ॥

'After the Pandavas had taken their seats, Virata, the lord of the earth, arrived to hold his council and attend to his royal duties.' ॥ 4-65-4 ॥

शरीमतः पाण्डवान दृष्ट्वा जवलतः पावकान इव अथ मत्स्यॊ ऽबरवीत कङ्कं देवरूपम अवस्थितम मरुद्गणैर उपासीनं तरिदशानाम इवेश्वरम ॥ ४-६५-५ ॥

'Beholding the illustrious Pandavas blazing like fires, the king paused in thought. Then, filled with wrath, the Matsya king spoke to Kanka, who sat there like a celestial, resembling the lord of the celestials and attended by the Maruts:' ॥ 4-65-5 ॥

zarImataH pANDavAna dRSTvA javalataH pAvakAna iva atha matsyò 'baravIta kaGkaM devarUpama avasthitama marudgaNaira upAsInaM taridazAnAma ivezvarama ॥ 4-65-5 ॥
