स निवृत्तॊ नरव्याघ्रॊ मुञ्चन वज्रनिभाञ शरान सचिवैः संवृतॊ राजा रथे नाग इव शवसन ।। ४-६४-२६ ।।
'Thus addressed, King Duryodhana—that tiger among men, surrounded by his counsellors—sighing upon his chariot like a serpent coiled upon its bed, showered arrows swift and fierce as thunderbolts.' ।। 4-64-26 ।।
'Then that celestial youth, loosing his shafts upon the Kuru army of lion-like warriors, pierced and afflicted the multitude of chariots. Stout as a lion, he laughed at them and stripped them of their garments and ornaments.' ।। 4-64-28 ।।
'Truly, the six mighty car-warriors of the Kurus were vanquished by that hero alone, like herds of forest beasts overpowered by a single raging tiger.' ।। 4-64-29 ।।
[विराट] कव स वीरॊ महाबाहुर देवपुत्रॊ महायशाः यॊ मे धनम अवाजैषीत कुरुभिर गरस्तम आहवे ।। ४-६४-३० ।।
'Virāṭa said: “Where is that mighty-armed, renowned youth of celestial origin—the hero who, in battle, recovered my wealth seized by the Kurus?"' ।। 4-64-30 ।।
