न तवाम अद्य मुदा युक्तम अहं देवितुम उत्सहे परियं तु ते चिकीर्षामि वर्ततां यदि मन्यसे ।। ४-६३-३१ ।।
'I, therefore, do not venture to gamble with thee, so carried away by delight. Yet, if it pleases thee, let the game proceed, for my constant desire is to act for thy welfare.' ।। 4-63-31 ।।
[विराट] सत्रियॊ गावॊ हिरण्यं च यच चान्यद वसु किं चन न मे किं चित तवया रक्ष्यम अन्तरेणापि देवितुम ।। ४-६३-३२ ।।
'Virata said, 'My maidens and cattle, my gold, and all the wealth I possess—none of these shall you be able to safeguard today, even if I abstain from gambling.'' ।। 4-63-32 ।।
'Kanka replied, 'O king, bestower of honours, why engage in gambling, a practice fraught with many evils? Gambling brings innumerable faults and ought to be avoided.' ।। 4-63-33 ।।
शरुतस ते यदि वा दृष्टः पाण्डवॊ वै युधिष्ठिरः स राज्यं सुमहत सफीतं भरातॄंश च तरिदशॊपमान ।। ४-६३-३४ ।।
'Thou mayst have seen, or at least heard of, Yudhishthira, son of Pandu, who lost his vast and flourishing kingdom along with his god-like brothers at the dice.' ।। 4-63-34 ।।
