स तान्य अनीकानि निवर्तमानान्य; आलॊक्य पूर्णौघनिभानि पार्थः हंसॊ यथा मेघम इवापतन्तं; धनंजयः परत्यपतत तरस्वी ॥ ४-६१-६ ॥
'Seeing these divisions advance toward him like surging ocean waves, Dhananjaya, the son of Pritha, dashed at them like a crane swooping upon a descending cloud.' ॥ 4-61-6 ॥

ते सर्वतः संपरिवार्य पार्थम; अस्त्राणि दिव्यानि समाददानाः ववर्षुर अभ्येत्य शरैः समन्तान; मेघा यथा भूधरम अम्बुवेगैः ॥ ४-६१-७ ॥
'Wielding celestial weapons, they surrounded him completely, showering arrows from all sides like clouds pouring a heavy downpour upon a mountain.' ॥ 4-61-7 ॥

ततॊ ऽसत्रम अस्त्रेण निवार्य तेषां; गाण्डीवधन्वा कुरुपुंगवानाम संमॊहनं शत्रुसहॊ ऽनयद अस्त्रं; परादुश्चकारैन्द्रिर अपारणीयम ॥ ४-६१-८ ॥
'Yet, the wielder of the Gandiva, capable of withstanding all foes, warded off their weapons and launched another irresistible celestial weapon, Sanmohana, obtained from Indra.' ॥ 4-61-8 ॥

ततॊ दिशश चानुदिशॊ विवृत्य; शरैः सुधारैर निशितैः सुपुङ्खैः गाण्डीवघॊषेण मनांसि तेषां; महाबलः परव्यथयां चकार ॥ ४-६१-९ ॥
'Covering all the cardinal and intermediate directions with sharp, well-feathered arrows, the mighty hero Partha stunned his foes with the thunderous twang of the Gandiva.' ॥ 4-61-9 ॥

ततः पुनर भीमरवं परगृह्य; दॊर्भ्यां महाशङ्खम उदारघॊषम वयनादयत स परदिशॊ दिशः खं; भुवं च पार्थॊ दविषतां निहन्ता ॥ ४-६१-१० ॥
'Then, taking up with both hands his great conch, he blew it with tremendous force, filling the heavens and the earth with its mighty sound. The foremost Kuru warriors, hearing that blast, were struck with awe and deprived of their senses.' ॥ 4-61-10 ॥
