आप्तॊ विवादः परमॊ विशां पते; न विद्यते किं चन मत्स्यहीनतः न मे जितः कश चन धारयेद धनं; वरॊ ममैषॊ ऽसतु तव परसादतः ।। ४-६-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'My first prayer, O lord of the earth, is this—that I be not drawn into disputes with base or unworthy men over the game of dice. And further, let it be understood that any man defeated by me shall not retain the wealth I have rightfully won. Let this boon be granted to me through thy grace.' ।। 4-6-12 ।।

english translation

Aptò vivAdaH paramò vizAM pate; na vidyate kiM cana matsyahInataH na me jitaH kaza cana dhArayeda dhanaM; varò mamaiSò 'satu tava parasAdataH || 4-6-12 ||
