ददामि ते हन्त वरं यम इच्छसि; परशाधि मत्स्यान वशगॊ हय अहं तव परिया हि धूर्ता मम देविनः सदा; भवांश च देवॊपम राज्यम अर्हति ॥ ४-६-११ ॥
'Virata replied, “I shall grant thee whatever boon thou desirest. Rule the Matsyas as thou wilt—for I am under thy control. Even cunning gamblers are dear to me, and as for thee—thou art like a god, and worthy of a kingdom.”' ॥ 4-6-11 ॥
english translation
आप्तॊ विवादः परमॊ विशां पते; न विद्यते किं चन मत्स्यहीनतः न मे जितः कश चन धारयेद धनं; वरॊ ममैषॊ ऽसतु तव परसादतः ॥ ४-६-१२ ॥
'My first prayer, O lord of the earth, is this—that I be not drawn into disputes with base or unworthy men over the game of dice. And further, let it be understood that any man defeated by me shall not retain the wealth I have rightfully won. Let this boon be granted to me through thy grace.' ॥ 4-6-12 ॥

हन्याम अवध्यं यदि ते ऽपरियं चरेत; परव्राजयेयं विषयाद दविजांस तथा शृण्वन्तु मे जानपदाः समागताः; कङ्कॊ यथाहं विषये परभुस तथा ॥ ४-६-१३ ॥
'Whoever dares to offend thee—even if he be a twice-born—I shall slay him; or else I shall banish him from my kingdom. Let all these gathered citizens hear me well: Kanka shall have the same authority in this realm as I do myself.' ॥ 4-6-13 ॥

समानयानॊ भवितासि मे सखा; परभूतवस्त्रॊ बहु पानभॊजनः पश्येस तवम अन्तश च बहिश च सर्वदा; कृतं च ते दवारम अपावृतं मया ॥ ४-६-१४ ॥
'Thou shalt be my companion—riding in the same chariots as I— and at thy disposal shall be abundant garments, and all manner of food and drink. And thou shalt oversee all my affairs, both internal and external. All the doors of my palace shall remain open to thee.' ॥ 4-6-14 ॥

ये तवानुवादेयुर अवृत्ति कर्शिता; बरूयाश च तेषां वचनेन मे सदा दास्यामि सर्वं तद अहं न संशयॊ; न ते भयं विद्यति संनिधौ मम ॥ ४-६-१५ ॥
'Should men in distress or want approach thee, bring their petitions to me at any hour— and I shall grant them whatever they seek. As long as thou dwellest with me, no harm shall ever befall thee.' ॥ 4-6-15 ॥
