स सायकमयैर जालैर अर्जुनस्य रथं परति भानुमत्ल्भिः शिला धौतैर भानॊः परच्छादयत परभाम ॥ ४-५३-२६ ॥
'Then, unleashing countless sharpened arrows blazing with solar radiance, he enveloped Arjuna’s chariot in a dazzling veil that obscured even the sun’s light.' ॥ 4-53-26 ॥

पार्थं च स महाबाहुर महावेगैर महारथः विव्याध निशितैर बाणैर मेघॊ वृष्ट्येव पर्वतम ॥ ४-५३-२७ ॥
'The mighty-armed great charioteer fiercely pierced Pritha’s son with sharp arrows, like rainclouds pouring down on a mountain.' ॥ 4-53-27 ॥

तथैव दिव्यं गाण्डीवं धनुर आदाय पाण्डवः शत्रुघ्नं वेगवद धृष्टॊ भारसाधनम उत्तमम विससर्ज शरांश चित्रान सुवर्णविकृतान बहून ॥ ४-५३-२८ ॥
'Then, seizing the foremost bow—the Gandiva—renowned for its power and endurance, the impetuous son of Pandu joyfully unleashed countless golden-tipped arrows of various kinds.' ॥ 4-53-28 ॥

नाशयञ शरवर्षाणि भारद्वाजस्य वीर्यवान तूर्णं चापनिविर्मुक्तैस तद अद्भुतम इवाभवत ॥ ४-५३-२९ ॥
'In that instant, he skillfully countered Drona’s relentless volley with shafts shot from his own bow. At this, the spectators marveled greatly.' ॥ 4-53-29 ॥

स रथेन चरन पार्थः परेक्षणीयॊ धनंजयः युगपद दिक्षु सर्वासु सर्वशस्त्राण्य अदर्शयत ॥ ४-५३-३० ॥
