'Meanwhile, there came the one of great valor and prowess, the great-souled Kṛpa, best among weapon-bearers, that great chariot-warrior, seeking battle, to fight against Arjuna.' ।। 4-52-1 ।।
'Those two chariots, sun-like in radiance, belonging to the two great warriors about to fight, stationed opposite each other, shone like two clouds in autumn.' ।। 4-52-2 ।।
'Partha (Arjuna), famed throughout the world, wielded the great bow Gandiva— drawing it and releasing many arrows that pierced the vital points of his enemies.' ।। 4-52-3 ।।
'And Pritha’s son, Arjuna, drawing the renowned Gandiva—the foremost of weapons famed throughout the world—released countless iron arrows, each capable of piercing deep into the vital points of his foes.' ।। 4-52-4 ।।
ततः पार्थश च संक्रुद्धश चित्रान मार्गान परदर्शयन दिशः संछादयन बाणैः परदिशश च महारथः ।। ४-५२-५ ।।
'Then, enraged, the mighty charioteer Arjuna executed various skilled maneuvers, unleashing a relentless shower of arrows from all sides.' ।। 4-52-5 ।।
