hk transliteration by Sanscriptस शरैर अर्पितः करुद्धः शितैर अग्निशिखॊपमैः तूर्णं शरसहस्रेण पार्थम अप्रतिमौजसम अर्पयित्वा महात्मानं ननाद समरे कृपः ॥ ४-५२-७ ॥
'Severely struck by these flaming arrows, Kripa grew furious and, in turn, unleashed a fierce barrage of ten thousand shafts upon the high-souled Partha, raising a thunderous roar across the battlefield.' ॥ 4-52-7 ॥

sa zaraira arpitaH karuddhaH zitaira agnizikhòpamaiH tUrNaM zarasahasreNa pArthama apratimaujasama arpayitvA mahAtmAnaM nanAda samare kRpaH ॥ 4-52-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः कनकपुङ्खाग्रैर वीरः संनतपर्वभिः तवरन गाण्डीवनिर्मुक्तैर अर्जुनस तस्य वाजिनः चतुर्भिश चतुरस तीक्ष्णैर अविध्यत परमेषुभिः ॥ ४-५२-८ ॥
'The heroic Arjuna swiftly responded, piercing the four steeds of his foe with four deadly arrows from his Gandiva—sharp, straight, and adorned with golden wings.' ॥ 4-52-8 ॥

tataH kanakapuGkhAgraira vIraH saMnataparvabhiH tavarana gANDIvanirmuktaira arjunasa tasya vAjinaH caturbhiza caturasa tIkSNaira avidhyata parameSubhiH ॥ 4-52-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते हया निशितैर विद्धा जवलद भिर इव पन्नगैः उत्पेतुः सहसा सर्वे कृपः सथानाद अथाच्यवत ॥ ४-५२-९ ॥
'Struck by arrows sharp as the fangs of fiery serpents, all of Kripa’s steeds suddenly reared up, and from his chariot, Kripa let out a mighty cry.' ॥ 4-52-9 ॥

te hayA nizitaira viddhA javalada bhira iva pannagaiH utpetuH sahasA sarve kRpaH sathAnAda athAcyavata ॥ 4-52-9 ॥

'Seeing Gautama thrown from his chariot, the mighty slayer of foes—the descendant of the Kuru race—paused out of respect for his opponent’s honor and ceased firing arrows at him.' ॥ 4-52-10 ॥
