वर्तमाना यथाशास्त्रं पराप्य चापि महीम इमाम सत कुर्वन्ति महाभागा रुगून सुविगुनान अपि ॥ ४-४५-६ ॥
'Those virtuous and noble ones, who follow the prescribed duties and rules, Having attained this earth, conduct themselves rightly— Even those with faults and shortcomings, when guided well, perform good deeds.' ॥ 4-45-6 ॥
english translation
पराप्य दयूतेन कॊ राज्यं कषत्रियस तॊष्टुम अर्हति तथा नृशंसरूपेण यथान्यः पराकृतॊ जनः ॥ ४-४५-७ ॥
'What Kshatriya would ever rejoice in gaining a kingdom through dice, like this wicked and shameless son of Dhritarashtra?' ॥ 4-45-7 ॥
english translation
तथावाप्तेषु वित्तेषुकॊ विकत्थेद विचक्षणः निकृत्या वञ्चना यॊगैश चरन वैतंसिकॊ यथा ॥ ४-४५-८ ॥
'Having acquired wealth by deceit and fraud, like a meat-vendor, who among the wise would boast of such gains?' ॥ 4-45-8 ॥
english translation
कतमद दवैरथं युद्धं यत्राजैषीर धनंजयम नकुलं सहदेवं च धनं येषां तवया हृतम ॥ ४-४५-९ ॥
'In what duel did you ever defeat Dhananjaya, or Nakula, or Sahadeva, though you have robbed them of their wealth?' ॥ 4-45-9 ॥
english translation
युधिष्ठिरॊ जितः कस्मिन भीमश च बलिनां वरः इन्द्रप्रस्थं तवया कस्मिन संग्रामे निर्जितं पुरा ॥ ४-४५-१० ॥
'In which battle did you conquer Yudhishthira, or Bhima, the foremost among the mighty? How did you ever subdue Indraprastha?' ॥ 4-45-10 ॥
