शस्त्राणि न परकाशन्ते न परहृष्यन्ति वाजिनः अग्नयश च न भासन्ते समिद्धास तन न शॊभनम ॥ ४-४१-२० ॥
'Dark clouds shroud the sky, our weapons have lost their lustre, our steeds are dispirited, and our sacrificial fires, though fed with fuel, refuse to blaze. All these are evil omens.' ॥ 4-41-20 ॥
