'Vaisampayana said, “Making Uttara his charioteer and reverently circumambulating the Sami tree, the son of Pandu gathered all his weapons and set forth."' ।। 4-41-1 ।।
'That mighty car-warrior departed with Uttara at the reins, having first removed the banner bearing the lion emblem and laid it at the foot of the Sami tree.' ।। 4-41-2 ।।
'In its place, he raised his own golden standard, adorned with the figure of an ape with a lion’s tail — a wondrous creation wrought by Viswakarman himself.' ।। 4-41-3 ।।
मनसा चिन्तयाम आस परसादं पावकस्य च स च तच चिन्तितं जञात्वा धवजे भूतान्य अचॊदयत ।। ४-४१-४ ।।
'For, no sooner had he thought of that gift of Agni than the latter, knowing his wish, commanded the superhuman beings who dwelt upon it to take their places upon the banner.' ।। 4-41-4 ।।
