[वै] ततः पार्थं स वैराटिर अभ्यवादयद अन्तिकात अहं भूमिं जयॊ नाम नाम्नाहम अपि चॊत्तरः ॥ ४-३९-२१ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued: The son of Virata, advancing nearer, saluted Partha and said: "My name is Bhuminjaya, also called Uttara. By good fortune, O Partha, I behold thee."' ॥ 4-39-21 ॥
english translation
दिष्ट्या तवां पार्थ पश्यामि सवागतं ते धनंजय लॊहिताक्ष महाबाहॊ नागराजकरॊपम यद अज्ञानाद अवॊचं तवां कषन्तुम अर्हसि तन मम ॥ ४-३९-२२ ॥
'Uttara said: "By fate, O Partha, I behold thee—welcome, O Dhananjaya, with thy red eyes and mighty arms, like the mighty hood of a king of serpents. If, through ignorance, I have spoken words to offend thee, I ask thy forgiveness."' ॥ 4-39-22 ॥
english translation
यतस तवया कृतं पूर्वं विचित्रं कर्म दुष्करम अतॊ भयं वयतीतं मे परीतिश च परमा तवयि ॥ ४-३९-२३ ॥
'The wondrous and difficult deeds you performed before have passed beyond all fear— and my love and reverence for you have grown exceedingly great.' ॥ 4-39-23 ॥
