अत्र चैतन महावीर्यं धनुः पार्थस्य गाण्डिवम एकं शतसहस्रेण संमितं राष्ट्रवर्धनम ।। ४-३८-६ ।।
'There also lies the bow of immense power — Arjuna’s Gāṇḍīva — which alone equals many thousands of other bows in strength, and is capable of expanding the boundaries of a kingdom.' ।। 4-38-6 ।।

atra caitana mahAvIryaM dhanuH pArthasya gANDivama ekaM zatasahasreNa saMmitaM rASTravardhanama || 4-38-6 ||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवयायामसहम अत्यर्थं तृणराजसमं महत सर्वायुधमहामात्रं शत्रुसंबाध कारकम ।। ४-३८-७ ।।
'It can endure immense exertion, massive as a great heap of grass, yet light in the hand, capable of holding all kinds of mighty weapons, and of scattering the enemy when surrounded on all sides.' ।। 4-38-7 ।।

vayAyAmasahama atyarthaM tRNarAjasamaM mahata sarvAyudhamahAmAtraM zatrusaMbAdha kArakama || 4-38-7 ||

'I am a Kshatriya by birth, the son of a great king, and ever observant of sacred mantras and vows. It is not proper for me to defile myself by handling a corpse.' ।। 4-38-10 ।।
