इति सम कुरवः सर्वे विमृशन्तः पृथक पृथक न च वयवसितुं किं चिद उत्तरं शक्नुवन्ति ते छन्नं तथा तं सत्रेण पाण्डवं परेक्ष्य भारत ।। ४-३६-३६ ।।
'Vaisampayana continued: “Beholding the disguised son of Pandu, the Kauravas, O Bharata, began to speculate in many ways. Yet, they could not arrive at any definite conclusion."' ।। 4-36-36 ।।
iti sama kuravaH sarve vimRzantaH pRthaka pRthaka na ca vayavasituM kiM cida uttaraM zaknuvanti te channaM tathA taM satreNa pANDavaM parekSya bhArata || 4-36-36 ||
'Seized by Arjuna, the son of Virata then lamented aloud, filled with fear and despair, revealing much of his weakness and helplessness.' ।। 4-36-38 ।।
'Hear me, O noble Vrihannala, thou of the graceful waist! Turn the chariot swiftly about. Fortune favors those who live! I will give thee a hundred coins of pure gold, Eight gleaming lapis lazuli set in gold.' ।। 4-36-39 ।।
हेमदण्डप्रतिच्छन्नं रथं युक्तं च सुव्रजैः मत्तांश च दश मातङ्गान मुञ्च मां तवं बृहण्णडे ।। ४-३६-४० ।।
'A chariot adorned with a golden flagstaff and drawn by excellent steeds, And ten fierce and powerful elephants. Therefore, O Vrihannala, grant me my freedom!' ।। 4-36-40 ।।
