पृथिवीम अजयत कृत्स्नां कुन्तीपुत्रॊ धनंजयः सैरन्ध्री तवां समाचष्ट सा हि जानाति पाण्डवान ॥ ४-३५-११ ॥
'The Sairindhrī hath spoken of thee to me. She knoweth the Pāṇḍavas well.' ॥ 4-35-11 ॥
english translation
संयच्छ मामकान अश्वांस तथैव तवं बृहन्नडा कुरुभिर यॊत्स्यमानस्य गॊधनानि परीप्सतः ॥ ४-३५-१२ ॥
'Do thou therefore, O Vrihannala, hold the reins of my steeds — even as thou once did — for I am eager to fight the Kurus and reclaim my stolen kine.' ॥ 4-35-12 ॥
english translation
अर्जुनस्य किलासीस तवं सारथिर दयितः पुरा तवयाजयत सहायेन पृथिवीं पाण्डवर्षभः ॥ ४-३५-१३ ॥
'Thou wert once the beloved charioteer of Arjuna; and with thee by his side, that bull among the sons of Pāṇḍu had single-handedly subdued the whole world!' ॥ 4-35-13 ॥
english translation
एवम उक्ता परत्युवाच राजपुत्रं बृहन्नडा का शक्तिर मम सारथ्यं कर्तुं संग्राममूर्धनि ॥ ४-३५-१४ ॥
'Thus addressed, Vrihannala replied to the prince, saying: “Of what use am I in battle as a charioteer?"' ॥ 4-35-14 ॥
english translation
गीतं वा यदि वा नृत्तं वादित्रं वा पृथग्विधम तत करिष्यामि भद्रं ते सारथ्यं तु कुतॊ मयि ॥ ४-३५-१५ ॥
'If it be music, or song, or the play of instruments, I shall delight thee. But what skill have I in managing horses on the field of war?' ॥ 4-35-15 ॥
