सा सारथ्यं मम भरातुः कुरु साधु बृहन्नडे पुरा दूरतरं गावॊ हरियन्ते कुरुभिर हि नः ॥ ४-३५-६ ॥
'Therefore, O Vrihannala, I beseech you—be the charioteer of my brother. By now, our cattle have surely been driven far away by the Kurus.' ॥ 4-35-6 ॥
english translation
अथैतद वचनं मे ऽदय नियुक्ता न करिष्यसि परणयाद उच्यमाना तवं परित्यक्ष्यामि जीवितम ॥ ४-३५-७ ॥
'If, despite my request—made out of affection—you refuse to heed my words, then I shall give up my life!' ॥ 4-35-7 ॥
english translation
एवम उक्तस तु सुश्रॊण्या तया सख्या परंतपः जगाम राजपुत्रस्य सकाशम अमितौजसः ॥ ४-३५-८ ॥
'Thus addressed by his friend of graceful hips, that oppressor of foes, possessed of immeasurable prowess, went into the presence of the prince.' ॥ 4-35-8 ॥
english translation
तं सा वरजन्तं तवरितं परभिन्नम इव कुञ्जरम अन्वगच्छद विशालाक्षी शिशुर गजवधूर इव ॥ ४-३५-९ ॥
'And like a she-elephant hastening after her calf, the large-eyed princess followed that hero who moved with the speed and majesty of an elephant in rut.' ॥ 4-35-9 ॥

दूराद एव तु तं परेक्ष्य राजपुत्राभ्यभाषत तवया सारथिना पार्थः खाण्डवे ऽगनिम अतर्पयत ॥ ४-३५-१० ॥
'Beholding him from afar, the prince exclaimed, "With thee as his charioteer, Dhananjaya, the son of Kunti, had gratified Agni in the Khandava forest and brought the whole world under his sway!"' ॥ 4-35-10 ॥
