अथैनम उपसंगम्य सत्रीमध्यात सा तपस्विनी वरीडमानेव शनकैर इदं वचनम अब्रवीत ॥ ४-३४-११ ॥
'Then, approaching him from among the women, that ascetic lady, speaking slowly and with measured words, said this statement.' ॥ 4-34-11 ॥
english translation
यॊ ऽसौ बृहद वारणाभॊ युवा सुप्रिय दर्शनः बृहन्नडेति विख्यातः पार्थस्यासीत स सारथिः ॥ ४-३४-१२ ॥
'The handsome youth, looking like a mighty elephant and known by the name of Vrihannala, was formerly the charioteer of Arjuna.' ॥ 4-34-12 ॥
english translation
धनुष्य अनवरश चासीत तस्य शिष्यॊ महात्मनः दृष्टपूर्वॊ मया वीर चरन्त्या पाण्डवान परति ॥ ४-३४-१३ ॥
'A disciple of that illustrious warrior, unmatched in skill with the bow, he was well known to me during my time with the Pandavas.' ॥ 4-34-13 ॥

यदा तत पावकॊ दावम अदहत खाण्डवं महत अर्जुनस्य तदानेन संगृहीता हयॊत्तमाः ॥ ४-३४-१४ ॥
'It was by his hand that the reins of Arjuna’s noble steeds were held when Agni consumed the forest of Khandava.' ॥ 4-34-14 ॥
english translation
तेन सारथिना पार्थः सर्वभूतानि सर्वशः अजयत खाण्डव परस्थे न हि यन्तास्ति तादृशः ॥ ४-३४-१५ ॥
'With him as charioteer, Partha (Arjuna) triumphed over all creatures at Khandava-prastha. Truly, there is no charioteer equal to him.' ॥ 4-34-15 ॥
