[वै] ते दृष्ट्वा निहतान सूतान राज्ञे गत्वा नयवेदयन गन्धर्वैर निहता राजन सूतपुत्राः परःशताः ।। ४-२३-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said: “And seeing the Sutas lying slain, the townspeople went straight to the king and reported the matter to him, saying, ‘O King, those mighty sons of the Sutas—each fierce and renowned—have all been slain by the Gandharvas.’”' ।। 4-23-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] te dRSTvA nihatAna sUtAna rAjJe gatvA nayavedayana gandharvaira nihatA rAjana sUtaputrAH paraHzatAH || 4-23-1 ||
