सूर्यः परपततां शरेष्ठॊ दविपदां बराह्मणॊ वरः आशीविषश च सर्पाणाम अग्निस तेजस्विनां वरः ॥ ४-२-१२ ॥
'The sun is the best among those that fly, the Brahmin is the best among bipeds (two-footed beings), the cobra is the best among serpents, and fire is the best among the radiant/luminous ones.' ॥ 4-2-12 ॥

sUryaH parapatatAM zareSThò davipadAM barAhmaNò varaH AzIviSaza ca sarpANAma agnisa tejasvinAM varaH ॥ 4-2-12 ॥
