कुरून परिभवन सर्वान पाञ्चालान अपि भारत पाण्डवेयांश च संप्राप्तॊ मम कलेशॊ हय अरिंदम ॥ ४-१९-११ ॥
'O subduer of foes, the misery that has befallen me is no ordinary sorrow; it has stained the honour of the entire Kuru race, the Panchalas, and the sons of Pandu.' ॥ 4-19-11 ॥
english translation
भरातृभिः शवशुरैः पुत्रैर बहुभिः परवीर हन एवं समुदिता नारी का नव अन्या दुःखिता भवेत ॥ ४-१९-१२ ॥
'Surrounded by powerful brothers, a noble father-in-law, and brave sons— what woman so blessed with joy, save myself, would be crushed by such grief?' ॥ 4-19-12 ॥
english translation
नूनं हि बालया धातुर मया वै विप्रियं कृतम यस्य परसादाद दुर्नीतं पराप्तास्मि भरतर्षभ ॥ ४-१९-१३ ॥
'Surely, in my childhood, I must have committed some grievous offence against Dhatri, for through His displeasure, O bull among the Bharatas, I have been struck with such misfortune.' ॥ 4-19-13 ॥

वर्णावकाशम अपि मे पश्य पाण्डव यादृशम यादृशॊ मे न तत्रासीद दुःखे परमके तदा ॥ ४-१९-१४ ॥
'Behold, O son of Pandu, how pallid my complexion has become— a pallor not brought even by our life in the forest, harsh and full of suffering as it was.' ॥ 4-19-14 ॥

तवम एव भीम जानीषे यन मे पार्थ सुखं पुरा साहं दासत्वम आपन्ना न शान्तिम अवशा लभे ॥ ४-१९-१५ ॥
'Thou, O son of Pritha, knowest well the happiness that was once mine, O Bhima. And I—who once knew such joy—have now fallen into servitude. Deeply afflicted, I find no peace.' ॥ 4-19-15 ॥
