तां दृष्ट्वा देवगर्भाभां चरन्तीं देवताम इव कीचकः कामयाम आस कामबाणप्रपीडितः ॥ ४-१३-४ ॥
'And it so happened that as the year neared its close, the formidable Kichaka, commander of Virata’s forces, caught sight of the daughter of Drupada. Beholding that radiant lady—resplendent like a celestial and moving with the grace of a goddess—Kichaka, pierced by the arrows of desire, sought to possess her.' ॥ 4-13-4 ॥
