यदा सर्वे विमनसस ते मल्ला हतचेतसः अथ सूदेन तं मल्लं यॊधयाम आस मत्स्यराज ।। ४-१२-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'And when all the wrestlers stood dejected and disheartened, the king of the Matsyas compelled his cook to take up the challenge.' ।। 4-12-16 ।।

english translation

yadA sarve vimanasasa te mallA hatacetasaH atha sUdena taM mallaM yòdhayAma Asa matsyarAja || 4-12-16 ||

'Urged by the king, Bhima, though unwilling, resolved to comply—he could not defy the royal command in open court.' ।। 4-12-17 ।।

'Then, the son of Kunti tightened his girdle, readying himself for combat—to the great joy of the assembled crowd. Then Bhima called forth to the combat the wrestler named Jimuta, famed far and wide for his strength, like the mighty Asura Vritra himself.' ।। 4-12-19 ।।
