अमर्षेण सुसंपूर्णॊ दह्यमानॊ दिवानिशम शुचि शुक्रागमे काले शुष्ये तॊयम इवाल्पकम ॥ २-४३-२१ ॥
'Day and night, this burning envy leaves me feeling as if I am withering like a dry tank in the summer heat.' ॥ 2-43-21 ॥
english translation
पश्य सात्वत मुख्येन शिशुपालं निपातितम न च तत्र पुमान आसीत कश चित तस्य पदानुगः ॥ २-४३-२२ ॥
'Behold how Shishupala, the foremost among the Satvatas, was struck down. Not a single person was there to support him or follow his footsteps.' ॥ 2-43-22 ॥
english translation
दह्यमाना हि राजानः पाण्डवॊत्थेन वह्निना कषान्तवन्तॊ ऽपराधं तं कॊ हि तं कषन्तुम अर्हति ॥ २-४३-२३ ॥
'Consumed by the fire of the Pandavas' influence, they all forgave the offense. Otherwise, who could have forgiven such a grave and improper act?' ॥ 2-43-23 ॥

वासुदेवेन तत कर्म तथायुक्तं महत कृतम सिद्धं च पाण्डवेयानां परतापेन महात्मनाम ॥ २-४३-२४ ॥
'That serious transgression by Vasudeva was ultimately overcome due to the power of the illustrious sons of Pandu.' ॥ 2-43-24 ॥

तथा हि रत्नान्य आदाय विविधानि नृपा नृपम उपतिष्ठन्ति कौन्तेयं वैश्या इव करप्रदाः ॥ २-४३-२५ ॥
'Many kings also brought various kinds of wealth to King Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti, as tribute, much like Vaisyas (Prostitutes) offering their dues.' ॥ 2-43-25 ॥
