स तु गच्छन्न अनेकाग्रः सभाम एवानुचिन्तयन शरियं च ताम अनुपमां धर्मराजस्य धीमतः ॥ २-४३-१६ ॥
'As he journeyed back to his city with a troubled heart, Duryodhana could think of nothing but the grandeur of the assembly and the unmatched prosperity of the wise Yudhishthira.' ॥ 2-43-16 ॥
english translation
sa tu gacchanna anekAgraH sabhAma evAnucintayana zariyaM ca tAma anupamAM dharmarAjasya dhImataH ॥ 2-43-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरमत्तॊ धृतराष्ट्रस्य पुत्रॊ दुर्यॊधनस तदा नाभ्यभाषत सुबलजं भाषमाणं पुनः पुनः ॥ २-४३-१७ ॥
'So absorbed was he in his thoughts that he did not respond to Suvala's son, even though Sakuni spoke to him repeatedly.' ॥ 2-43-17 ॥

paramattò dhRtarASTrasya putrò duryòdhanasa tadA nAbhyabhASata subalajaM bhASamANaM punaH punaH ॥ 2-43-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनेकाग्रं तु तं दृष्ट्वा शकुनिः परत्यभाषत दुर्यॊधन कुतॊ मूलं निःश्वसन्न इव गच्छसि ॥ २-४३-१८ ॥
'Observing Duryodhana's preoccupation, Sakuni asked, 'O Duryodhana, why are you going on in such a state?'' ॥ 2-43-18 ॥

anekAgraM tu taM dRSTvA zakuniH paratyabhASata duryòdhana kutò mUlaM niHzvasanna iva gacchasi ॥ 2-43-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript[द] दृष्ट्वेमां पृथिवीं कृत्स्नां युधिष्ठिर वशानुगाम जिताम अस्त्रप्रतापेन शवेताश्वस्य महात्मनः ॥ २-४३-१९ ॥
'Duryodhana replied, 'Seeing this entire earth submissive to Yudhishthira, conquered by the prowess of the weapons of the great-souled one with white horses (Arjuna).' ॥ 2-43-19 ॥

[da] dRSTvemAM pRthivIM kRtsnAM yudhiSThira vazAnugAma jitAma astrapratApena zavetAzvasya mahAtmanaH ॥ 2-43-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतं च यज्ञं तथा भूतं दृष्ट्वा पार्थस्य मातुल यथा शक्रस्य देवेषु तथा भूतं महाद्युते ॥ २-४३-२० ॥
'And witnessing the grandeur of Yudhishthira's sacrifice, which rivals even the sacrifice of the great deity Indra, I am consumed with jealousy.' ॥ 2-43-20 ॥
