अथ सीत्कार: सीत्कां कुर्य्यात्तथा वक्त्रे " घ्राणेनैव विसर्ज्जयेत् I एवमभ्यासयोगेन कामदेवो द्वितीयकः॥२-१६॥

One should always inhale through the mouth producing the sound 'sit', hold the air in and exhale through the nostrils. With this practice, one becomes like a cupid.

योगिनीचक्रसंसेव्यः सृष्टिसंहारकारकः I न क्षुधा न तृषा निद्रा नैवालस्यं प्रजायते ॥२-१७॥

sanskrit

He is respected by the yogini-cakra, becomes capable to create and destroy and does not suffer from hunger, thirst, sleep and drowsiness.

भवेत्स्वच्छन्ददेहस्तु' सर्वोपद्रववर्जितः I अनेन विधिना सत्यं योगीन्द्रो भाति भूतले ॥२-१८॥

Moreover, by this practice, an eminent yogi becomes physically fit, remains free from all the worldly sufferings and excells in life.

अथ शीतली- जिह्वया' वायुमाकृष्य पूर्ववत्कुम्भकादनु I शनैरशीतिपर्य्यन्तं' रेचयेदनिलं सुधीः ॥२-१९॥

sanskrit

One draws the air in through the tongue, retains it in the manner told before and thereafter slowly exhales (through the nostrils). This is performed for eighty rounds.

गुल्मप्लीहोदरं दोषं ज्वरपित्तक्षुधातृषाः I विषाणि शीतली नाम कुम्भकोऽयं निहन्ति च ॥२-२०॥

sanskrit

sitali kumbhaka removes dropsy, disorders of the spleen, fever, acidity, and toxicity and controls hunger and thirst.
