वातक्रमेण व्युत्क्रमेण शीत्क्रमेण विशेषतः । भालभातिं त्रिधा कुर्यात्कफदोषं निवारयेत्॥१-५६॥
There are three special types of Bhaalbhati (Kapalbhati) action called Vaatakram, Vyutkram and Sheetakram. By practicing them, all the phlegm diseases of the seeker are cured (eliminated).

भालभाति ( कपालभाति ) क्रिया के वातक्रम, व्युत्क्रम व शीतक्रम नामक तीन विशेष प्रकार हैं । जिनका अभ्यास करने से साधक के सभी कफ रोगों का निवारण ( समाप्त ) हो जाता है ।
इडया पूरयेद्वायुं रेचयेत्पिङ्गलया पुनः । पिङ्गलया पूरयित्वा पुनश्चन्द्रेण रेचयेत्॥१-५७॥
Inhale through Ida Nadi (left nostril) and exhale through Pingala Nadi (right nostril). Then inhaling the breath through Pingala Nadi (right nostril) and expelling the breath through Ida Nadi (left nostril) is Vaatkrama Kapalbhati.

इड़ा नाड़ी ( बायीं नासिका ) से श्वास को अन्दर भरें और पिंगला नाड़ी ( दायीं नासिका ) से श्वास को बाहर निकाल दें । फिर पिंगला नाड़ी ( दायीं नासिका ) से श्वास को अन्दर भरकर इड़ा नाड़ी ( बायीं नासिका ) से श्वास को बाहर निकाल देना ही वातक्रम कपालभाति होता है ।
This Puraka (breathing in) and Rechak (breathing out) process should never be done at a fast pace. If done this way easily, it cures all Kapha defects.

इस पूरक ( श्वास को अन्दर लेना ) व रेचक ( श्वास को बाहर छोड़ना ) क्रिया को कभी भी तेज गति के साथ नहीं करना चाहिए । इस प्रकार सहज रूप से करने पर यह सभी कफ दोषों का निवारण करता है ।

Drink the water from both the nostrils and expel it through the mouth and then in the reverse order, drink the water through the mouth and expel the water from both the nostrils. By this Vyutkrama Kapalbhati, all the phlegm related diseases of the seeker are destroyed.

नासिका के दोनों छिद्रों से पानी को पीकर मुहँ द्वारा बाहर निकाल दें और फिर उल्टे क्रम में ही मुहँ द्वारा पानी पीकर दोनों नासिका छिद्रों से पानी को बाहर निकाल दें । इस व्युत्क्रम कपालभाति द्वारा साधक के सभी कफ जनित रोगों का नाश होता है ।
While making a hissing sound, drink the water through the mouth and expel it through both the nostrils. This process is called Sheetakram Kapalbhati. By practicing this, the yogi's body becomes extremely beautiful like Kamadeva.

शीत्कार की आवाज करते हुए मुहँ द्वारा पानी पीकर नासिका के दोनों छिद्रों से बाहर निकाल दें । यह प्रक्रिया शीतक्रम कपालभाति कहलाती है । इसका अभ्यास करने से योगी का शरीर कामदेव की भाँति अत्यंत सुन्दर हो जाता है ।
