वितस्तिमानं सूक्ष्मसूत्रं नासानाले प्रवेशयेत् । मुखान्निर्गमयेत्पश्चात् प्रोच्यते नेतिकर्मकम्॥१-५१॥

The process of taking a group of thin cotton threads (several cotton threads) about half an arm long (about 12 fingers long) and putting them inside one part of the nostril and taking them out through the mouth is called Neti Kriya.

english translation

एक बिता लम्बा अर्थात् लगभग आधा हाथ लम्बा ( लगभग 12 अँगुल लम्बा ) पतले सूती धागों के समूह ( कई सारे सूती धागे ) लेकर उसे नासिका के एक भाग से अन्दर डालकर उसे मुहँ द्वारा बाहर निकाल देने को की प्रक्रिया को नेति क्रिया कहा जाता है ।

साधनान्नेतियोगस्य खेचरीसिद्धि माप्नुयात् । कफदोषा विनश्यन्ति दिव्यदृष्टि: प्रजायते॥१-५२॥

Khechari Mudra of Yogi is Siddh (proved) by the practice of Neti Kriya. All types of phlegm diseases of its practitioner are destroyed and he attains divine vision.

नेति क्रिया की साधना से योगी की खेचरी मुद्रा सिद्ध होती है । इसके साधक के सभी प्रकार के कफ रोगों का नाश होता है और उसे दिव्य दृष्टि की प्राप्ति होती है ।

अमन्दवेगेतुन्दञ्च भ्रामयेदुभपार्श्वयो: । सर्वरोगान्निहन्तीह देहानलविवर्द्धनम्॥१-५३॥

Rotating the stomach in both directions (from right to left and from left to right) with full speed is called Lauliki i.e. Nauli Kriya. With its continuous practice it destroys all the diseases of the seeker. Along with this, it increases the digestive fire present in the body. Due to which the digestive system of the seeker becomes stronger.

पेट को पूरी तेज गति के साथ दोनों तरफ ( दायें से बायीं व बायें से दायीं ओर ) घुमाना लौकिकी अर्थात् नौलि क्रिया कहलाती है । इसके निरन्तर अभ्यास से यह साधक के सभी रोगों का नाश करती है । इसके साथ ही यह शरीर में स्थित जठराग्नि को बढ़ाती है । जिससे साधक का पाचन तंत्र मजबूत होता है ।

निमेषोन्मेषकं त्यक्त्वा सूक्ष्मलक्ष्यं निरीक्षयेत् । पतन्ति यावदश्रूणि त्राटकं प्रोच्यते बुधै:॥१-५४॥

Stopping the process of opening and closing the eyes, one should keep gazing towards a subtle target until tears start flowing from the eyes. Scholars have called this action Trataka.

english translation

आँखों को खोलने और बन्द करने की प्रक्रिया को रोककर, एक सूक्ष्म लक्ष्य की तरफ तब तक टकटकी लगाकर देखते रहना चाहिए जब तक कि आँखों से आंसू न बहने लगें । इस क्रिया को विद्वानों ने त्राटक कहा है ।

एवमभ्यासयोगेन शाम्भवी जायते ध्रुवम् । नेत्ररोगा विनश्यन्ति दिव्यदृष्टि: प्रजायते॥१-५५॥

By practicing Tratak Kriya, the Yogi definitely attains Shambhavi Mudra. All eye diseases are cured and divine vision is also achieved.

त्राटक क्रिया के अभ्यास से योगी को निश्चित रूप से शाम्भवी मुद्रा की प्राप्ति होती है । सभी नेत्र रोग समाप्त होते हैं और साथ ही दिव्य दृष्टि भी प्राप्त होती है ।
